What is Wintergreen?

It is a type of plant also known as “American Wintergreen”. This plant grows naturally in the eastern regions of North America, especially Canada and the northeastern United States. The winter plant grows as a spreading ground cover that reaches a height of 10-15 cm and does not shed its leaves in winter. Its leaves are dark green in color and the underside of the leaves is reddish. The plant has white or pink flowers and red berries. In addition, wintergreen oil is known in traditional medicine for its ability to help with conditions such as muscle pain, joint disorders and influenza. Regarding the use of this oil, it should be diluted before applying it to the skin.
